THE Queensland branch of the Royal Australian College of Ophthalmologists congratulates the Courier Mail and Leisa Scott on your excellent article "A big, fat, beaut way to be taught" (C-M, June 20).

The difficult problem of dyslexia is at last being tackled in a meaningful way. Teaching on a one-to-one basis is shown to be beneficial and to take effect at a practical level. Too often, this complex condition has both patient and parent confused.

We congratulate Mrs Christine Alexander on the excellent progress she is making in this area. We hope the public gives her all the support she justly deserves, - Dr Kevin P. English, chairman, Queensland branch, Royal Australian College of Ophthalmologists.
